Vision for Bright Future (VBF) is committed to improving maternal and child health outcomes in underserved communities. As part of this commitment, VBF is actively implementing a Maternal Care Center (MCC) project in Agarfa Woreda, aimed at enhancing the availability and quality of pre- and post-natal care services for pregnant women and children. With over 56% of the construction already completed, this initiative reflects VBF’s strategic effort to reduce maternal and child health risks, promote community engagement, and contribute meaningfully to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
VBF has been successfully implementing construction of pre- and post-natal maternity care centre in Agarfa woreda (MCC). Currently, the MCC project is under construction over 56% of accomplishment.
At the end of the project accomplishment VBF anticipate the following benefits:
- Improve Access to Healthcare: A maternal care center in the Agarfa Woreda provides convenient access to healthcare services for pregnant women and new mothers, reducing the need for long-distance travel and ensuring timely care. This means the centers provide a safe and accessible location for women to receive prenatal care, delivery services, and postpartum care, reducing the risk of complications and improving the chances of a healthy pregnancy and birth.
- Enhanced Quality of Care: Maternal care centers are often staffed with skilled healthcare professionals who can provide specialized care and support to pregnant women and new mothers and babies, and ultimately improving the quality of care they receive.
- Community Involvement: Building a maternal care center in the Woreda fosters community involvement and ownership, encouraging local residents to participate and voluntary the time in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of maternal healthcare services in collaboration with government bodies.
Contribute for UN sustainable development goal (SDG 3) – Establish Good Health and Well-Being: Provide essential healthcare services to pregnant women and newborns, contributing to improved maternal and child health SDG 3 outcomes.
